What do we do?
We work on educational activities to promote understanding and interest
in the library resources. We organize fund-raising activities
to help the library:
Meet the on-going operating expenses that are not fully covered
by current income. These include things like: electricity,
water, office supplies, etc.
- Pay for the land, building and furnishings for a new, larger
library
- Pay for new books, computers, etc. that the community needs
We also work with the community to find out what residents want
their library to provide. We may know a lot about this, but
it’s best to take the time to actually find out what you want.
What’s YOUR role?
If you would like to help our efforts, but do not have the time
to become actively involved, you can become a Contributor
to the Friends of the Darby Community Public Library. If you
are interested in joining us in the work we do, you can become a
Participating Member. Your role
can be whatever you like!
If you want to get involved and work with us, great! If you
want to help us with a contribution, but you don’t have time
to work with us, we will also thank you!
